There seems to be a theme running this month with our obsession with Subaru’s, and can you blame us. This latest offering is one of the most hardcore Subaru’s in the country, I noticed on the cover of leading Modified car magazine this month that they claimed to have the most powerful road legal Subaru in the Britain at 550 bhp, well this orange Missile is not far off it.

The spec of this car beggars belief, just a few items include, a Cometic Head Gasket, 800cc injectors, a custom AWD Intercooler, Manifold and exhaust, a simtek ecu, an ACT 20g turbo, custom gearbox, Team super street suspension, cucso roll cage, NRG carbon seats, Sabelt 4-point harnesses, Brembo big brake conversion and STI 7 alloys with Toyo triple 8 rubber. This is only a taste of what has been fitted to the car. I have only listed what I understand, half of the mods are just numbers and letters to me, best keep it simple.

This car was built for one thing, racing, when I spoke to Andy the car was approaching 500bhp but by the sounds of things they weren’t finished yet, they were in the process of fitting a bigger turbo and changing the ecu. This car has yet to compete and Andy’s reason’s for this was that he thought 440bhp just wasn’t enough, NOT ENOUGH!! I mean last year I drove the Evo fq 360, the most powerful car I have ever driven, and the experience was mind blowing, If Andy was behind the wheel of the Evo he would have probably thought he was driving a Smart.

What I love about so many cars I encounter in this job is the true passion for engineering, I mean some guys fire a turbo on or carry out various performance mods not really knowing what they’re getting into, it’s guys like Andy and AWD Motorsport you really have to admire, they pay great attention to detail making sure the minor components of the machine can handle the masses of power being laid down to the tarmac. They are all about stretching the imagination and limits of engineering, hat’s off to them!!!!

One of the best things about this car is that the actual owner doesn’t want to be acknowledged, I mean I don’t even know who he is. So I continually refer to Andy and AWD Motorsport in this article, these are the guys responsible for this masterpiece.
